My cat loves to sit on my shoulder, lean against my ear, and purr. This is deeply therapeutic, especially when she does it first thing in the morning while the caffeine is brewing and the world hasn't come into focus yet.

Zoe-kitty isn't letting me pet her yet (we have only been acquainted a year and a half! I continue patiently holding out hope!), but my holding my hand out for her to push her head against is sometimes agreeable

My ancient beastie likes to climb all over me and kiss me, which I figure she's earned the right to do at her advanced age! (Mind you, she also drank some of my coffee earlier, which was pushing her Favoured Cat status).

also, fresh flowers. I don't have a yard, so can't grow my own, but now the florists are open again in my state, maybe I need to start getting myself some now and again

My not-so-ancient beastie likes to climb my chest and kiss my face, and has installed herself to do so right now regardless of my laptop. I wouldn't think cats had much desire for coffee. Wild!

Being passively allowed to pet a kitty is far better than not. I am glad Thea-kitty loves your lap.

Purring is good. Fresh flowers are very nice too, as a way to brighten the indoors. We have our own daffodils but they're poisonous to cats, so we don't bring them in.

He probably doesn't count as something 'small' anymore, but my roommate J, who at 14 is still not embarrassed by me and likes to come lean against me while he plays with his phone and I internet.

My office window looks at the backyard. Over the last few years, I've started up 3 4 foot by 8 foot raised beds and every spring I put in pollinator-friendly seeds. This year, even before I did, I had flowers coming up which had reseeded from last year. I have a bed of purple and red, another of orange, and a third with yellow flowers, all visible from my desk. I'm hoping to get butterfly swarms again. Two summers ago, I had two meter cosmos and one butterfly that was determined to check *every single flower*. It was great to watch.

Right now I'm happy because I won a small prize in my crafting competition! Woohoo!

Otherwise, my Parlor Cats make me happy. I can't have a real cat (I live with my parents, and mom is not a cat person) so I knitted two cats for myself instead. Here's the first and the second. I like to give them pats on the head when I pass them by.
