I read an article yesterday about a group that organizes writing letters to residents of assisted living facilities, and signed up to write letters. https://www.lettersagainstisolation.com
My income is tiny so I don't usually have money to spare for charity, but I did buy itch.io's Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, a collection of over 1000 games benefiting the NAACP and Community Bail Fund. Minimum donation was $5, and I figured even my meager bank account could afford to give $5.
Bail funds, the local abortion fund, some individual gofundmes for people affected by Covid, food charities, family with medical bills/furlough, local group supporting mostly QTPOC sex workers, organizations dedicated to ending mass incarceration and defunding police, orgs supporting asylum and immigration.
I feel like I need to narrow focus in terms of where I give time but haven't found a good fit for more focused volunteering with my limited time and energy yet.
