Spending time with a good friend yesterday gave me plenty of opportunities to laugh.

Crying is something that hits in waves of frustration these days, usually with my own failure to cope with the global situation.

Watching a subtitled movie where the two main characters have a long climactic fight against an evil sorcerer, near the end of the fight the subtitles make one of them exclaim "It's sorcery!" as if he's only just noticed. I probably wasn't meant to laugh at that point . . .

I've been watching Gordon Ramsay's show _Uncharted_. The title is annoying, evoking the old idea that a thing hasn't been discovered unless a White man discovers it, but the show itself is a hilarious delight. Mr. Ramsay is a respectful and adventurous learner and whines entertainingly, and his cursing makes me whoop with laughter.

Watching finches and sparrows (unsuccessfully) attempt to eat out of a hummingbird feeder has been very amusing.

I teared up (in a good way) at various points while reading Consolation Songs.

I keep meaning to watch Gordon Ramsay in one of his not-raging shows. This one sounds like a decent place to start if I can get over my inability to watch TV soon.

nod It's a good place to start. He curses and complains hilariously but is never less than unfailingly respectful to people and traditions.

I laughed out loud when re-reading a cesperanza McShep story The Te of John where John's pissed and terrified because Rodney's trying to ascend after being whammied with ancient tech, and Rodney's trying to be all serene to control his brainwaves.

"If you're not here to help, then what are you doing here?"

"I'm fucking with you," John replied.

"Oh, that's nice. Very nice. Thank you, as always, for your support, you asshole."

"Picture a dark storm swirling around your head. A jumbo jet breaks out of the clouds. It's on fire: first, one wing falls off, then it explodes, shrapnel everywhere, body parts and—"

"I can't even believe what an asshole you are. It's like you're going for some sort of personal best."

"—and then the alien explodes out of John Hurt's stomach," John said meanly.

You probably have to be a McShep fan to fund it funny!

i've been unemployed for a few years now, and i'm in need of a new phone. i talked to my father about this, he said he won't buy me a new phone (despite having bought a new phone for my niece) and that i need a job. i cried the whole afternoon because of this since i can't find a job.

as for what made me laugh: there's this song by the used. he sings "to whom it may concern" at the beginning, and a friend of mine says she hears him say "too horny make it sad" (english is not our first language, so). the funny part of this is that what she hears summarizes the band perfectly.
