I've been in even-more-constant-than-usual contact with my mother, so she wins the On My Mind award.

Postcards are patriotic as well as loving at the moment. If you take joy in it, why not?

I've mostly been thinking about my mother. I'm not really dealing with her loss, and can't imagine that will change.

I'm sorry things piled up on your loss so it's been so hard to cope. Grief is hard enough without plague.

I'm talking to my friends Mel and Holly and Ilona a lot more, and I actually broke and called my father instead of stubbornly making him call me first.

My stubbornness wrt talking to my father extends to who emails who first, and since he replied to my "How are you doing?" email with "Sheltering in place." I think he just doesn't want to talk about how things are.

Honestly, if my mother hadn't gotten desperately ill, I probably wouldn't have called my dad. But really, it's his own damn fault I'm this stubborn; I definitely got it from him.

My father escapes being blamed for me being terribly stubborn because I've also met my mother's side of the family, and there were some thoroughly ornery moments there.

Worried a bit about friends in Aussie after no reply to an email, but they just did so that's ok. Missing my cat, sigh.
