It means I can't take the rubbish or the recycling out to the outside bins for days without aggravating my chronic pain - I can't go out when its windy or wet if I don't want my pain to flare up badly for days.
I've taken more walks in the rain during COVID than at any point previously combined. The need to get out of the house for a little while can't be overstated, in my experience.
We've hit the season of eternally running around strategically opening and closing blinds and windows as the sun shifts and the temperature yo-yos around here (but not yet the season where the nights don't cool off enough to help much). Spouse just went out for a midday run anyway...
aside from Oregon's famous rain, we've not been hit with anything too major since the shut-in. as I'm mostly staying inside, it doesn't directly affect me, though my place is fairly dark even on sunny days, so when the skies are gloomy, it becomes a cave in here.
as it is now, with thunder rolling, and the rains pattering down
We had a once in a decade storm 24 May and lost power for 11 hours 30 minutes -
for most of that, I had no internet access; no light except a torch; no way of telling what time it was; no heating; and no way of phoning for help if the storm had damaged my house.
Oh, and I had to throw out all the food in the fridge.
I am going to buy a power bank when the rain lets up enough for the delivery drivery to leave it on my front doormat without it getting ruined.
I worry about losing power, but it hasn't happened so far *knock on wood*
Otherwise... I try to enjoy the feeling that I get to stay in and maybe do some reading on a rainy day, and I use the exercise bike. I've checked for rainbows to show the kiddos but no luck so far.
