The magnolia is blooming where you are? Huh, that's a first-tree-of-spring flower here. Enjoy them in all their glory.

It would never have occurred to to think of them as spring flowers! I'm pretty sure they're magnolias, anyway.

And now I have to revise my interpretation of all the songs referencing magnolia; I just always assumed they went with summers. :)

Apparently there are varieties that bloom later in the summer -- see article -- but those aren't as common in my area, so I guess it's a regional/species difference.
