I don't actually reward myself for doing the right thing, but I *do* seem to get myself a lot of take out for making it through the work week... Also I let myself bail early from work if I finish all my tasks.
I find that making doing the right thing fun or a habit works better for me than rewards.
I think psychologists would agree that having there be intrinsic motivation to do the right thing is better than extrinsic motivation, but sometimes the right thing is unpleasant. And for those situations, we have takeout.
I've become a takeout monster since COVID hit, myself. I've put on so much weight because of it, though, when I had been losing quite well. I'd been eating healthier and being more active and more positive. Now, the gym is closed and I'm eating foods that aren't healthy. And I'm 315 lbs.--exactly 150 lbs. overweight for my height. OMG, now that I've made that statement, I know I have to do something on the immediate morrow. ZOINKS.
It depends! Chocolate, sometimes, a new ebook or time to read, others. Right now I'm rewarding myself for having finished some work with five minutes on DW :)
Watching a favorite TV show's next episode in order (streaming), playing a video game, taking a nap, buying myself some ice cream. (Try to avoid the last one too often because morbid obesity due to medicinally induced hormone imbalance is an issue with me.)
