The best calendar I know of for Zoom song swaps is https://www.bostonsongsessions.org/virtual-sessions -- folk music, chantey sings, etc. The maintainers are in the UK and the east coast of the US, so that's where the focus of events are.
I miss my dad. We had to put him in a home in June because my mom finally decided his care was more than she could handle physically and emotionally. (He has Alzheimer's type dementia, between stages 3-4 but able to remember all immediate family members.)
His home JUST opened up immediate family visits right before our state had another surge of COVID cases. No word yet on them returning to no visitors status, but I'm worried they will. Right now it's only 2-at-a-time, immediate family only, 1/2-hour only, limited hours, only when arranged ahead of time. So far, only my mom has been able to visit. My brother drove all the way from his home 2-1/2 hours away to visit, but the people at the home said we couldn't visit because the supervisor was away on vacation and she hadn't told them about visits starting again. (This after letters had been sent to all families.) So, my brother helped my mom with stuff around her house for a couple hours instead before returning home to "out and feed the puppy" he just got. (He rescued a female pit-bull named Skyla from his local shelter, and she's all puppy compared to the middle-aged female yellow lab mix ("Daisy") he already had!
Oh, and I miss hugs from my family members and friends. I'm a very touchy-feely person, despite the fact that I have Asperger syndrome. (I'm what's known as a typical-atypical Aspie because I crave affection instead of avoid it and avoid people's eyes instead of fix them with an unnerving stare.)

Date: 2020-10-25 09:10 am (UTC)I've enjoyed televised Zoom concerts and musicals (e.g., Hamilton), I know.
But, we aren't allowed to sing along in church right now, and that absolutely drives me batty. Not sing praise to God? ACK!

Date: 2020-10-25 04:33 pm (UTC)It's so frustrating that they didn't let your brother visit! Good that he got to spend some time with your mom, and the puppy sounds adorable.
I think a lot of people are missing the hell out of hugs, so you are very far from alone there.
