This is a great idea!
Other useful things for photo collages are an app for ios called LAYOUT (intended for Instagram but it makes a collage you can use anywhere) and this is an icon table that would work too, using thumbnails for the pics. Because it's now on the Wayback machine it won't do a proper preview, but it produces viable code for pasting. Paste it in then check a preview to make sure. With the icon table you can also add commentary under each pic, if wanted.
