Petra (she/her)
Been not around the block a few times
Self-soothing: reading long fanfiction & Stardew Valley
I hope: I want to add structure and enjoyment to my days of being stuck inside, and bring the same benefits to other people
I can offer: an open, sympathetic mind and suggestions of ways to cope, e. g. "connect with new people on the internet for new perspectives"

Date: 2020-08-06 02:14 pm (UTC)Here in Melbourne we're three weeks into our second lockdown, and our restrictions have been upgraded. I however have been somewhat housebound for a fair few years thanks to health issues, so I'd like to say I'm a veteran at this point.
Self-soothing: I tried taking up oil-painting, but I'm still at the early frustration stage of learning, so until I improve there's Minecraft and sudoku.
I hope: People to talk to, a way to mark time, the joy of listening to other's discuss their hobbies and the small details of their lives
I can offer: Ruthless optimism, suggestions from my giant pile of coping strategies, spontaneous haikus, cat pictures, maybe recipes, photos of flowers from my daily walks.

Date: 2020-08-06 10:05 pm (UTC)I'm glad you're facing the lockdown with some sense of having been there before. It all sounds scary from outside.
Minecraft and sudoku are good self-soothing activities, to be sure.
I hope you find the things you're looking for here.
Hello, I hope this stays open!
Date: 2020-10-25 09:04 am (UTC)2. Been not around the block a few times (just got that--hee!)
3. Enjoy online and offline video games, loom knitting, and watching favorite TV series or game/competition shows. I also enjoy listening to music and books on tape and writing, as well as chatting with family and friends on the phone or online.
4. I can always use new ideas for proactively using my inside time!
5. I'm an experienced peer "listener" and am very good at giving "leading suggestions" rather than advice. ("Have you tried shopping around for the cheapest price?" vs. "You should get your stuff at an outlet store or someplace like Costco instead of a craft store.")
