There's the asymptomatic incubation period, though, where one is infected but before the symptoms start. Not least since going to have surgery meant going to the microbial disco club that is a hospital, I didn't want to risk it.

Ah, that's true. I'd forgotten you'd had to go to the hospital lately. My fault entirely.

I reckon you'll be okay taking ibuprofen - looks like the warning against it may be fake news: https://www.factcheck.org/2020/03/no-evidence-to-back-covid-19-ibuprofen-concerns/?platform=hootsuite, and there's no real evidence it'd be harmful.
