You're there, you might as well enjoy it. What is nice about your residence?

I love that my room is big enough for lots of furniture. I owned a condo for 12 years, but I lost it to foreclosure and then moved in with my parents. I thought I would have to give up a lot of my furniture when I moved in, but my room is big enough for my bed, huge dresser, night stand, two large bookcases, another smaller bookcase holding media, and my desk. Having the desk there is really helpful; it holds my PlayStations (2 & 4) on it so I'm able to play my games in the comfort of my room without bothering my family.

I have enough bookshelves, and they're strong enough for actual books.

Also, the books are catalogued, and mostly alphabetised.

All that took years.

it's bigger than one person actually needs, but that means I don't feel too cooped up, even after being stuck inside for weeks. the layout is a bit odd but that makes it interesting, and I've lots of wall space for all my stuff (much of which is still in boxes - need to get it hung). and despite being near busy thoroughfares, I'm on a pretty quiet side street, so it's not a noisy place

it's lonely, cause it's just me and Olivier, and though he's company, he's not big on lengthy conversations - but otherwise it has proven to be a nice place to be quarantined. I know I'm damn lucky

It is certainly good to have a feeling of space! you are near busy thoroughfares, and are they still busy? I'm near a large road but it must usually be busy with commuters because traffic is down to almost nothing now so many work from home

traffic is definitely much reduced on the streets! I venture out for brief drives 1-2 times a week, to get a change of scenery and keep the car battery charged, and it's amazing how light traffic is, even on the really major streets. the stay at home thing has totally decreased the number of cars on the road

My large west-facing windows. I can see some trees and lots of birds (so many pigeons these days, and also there's usually a lot of birdsong going on), and sometimes I get good sunset views. And the neighboring apartment building is actually really pretty; it's not a bad view.

I've got wooden floors and lots of small rugs. Rugs keep the floors warmer as winter is approaching and when I want a bit of a new look it is just a matter of swapping some rugs around and maybe grabbing one out of storage. Wooden floors and rugs also means I don't have to vacuum if I don't want to. I can just use a rug beater and a broom to get the house clean without the horrible noise.
