* Exhalation (Ted Chiang) - short fiction collection, very varied, everything great * Rosewater (Tade Thompson) - book 1 of 3; near future Nigeria, telepaths, aliens, first contact. * Catfishing on CatNet (Naomi Kritzer) * Deeplight (Frances Hardinge) - oh, my, the world building. * Middlegame (Seanan McGuire) * To Be Taught, If Fortunate (Becky Chambers)
.. I've read a few other things, but none of them have quite made it to the same high standard.
